In occasion of the cultural capital year RUHR.2010, the AufRuhr 1225!-Exhibition offers a new, surprising view on the region between the rivers Emscher and Ruhr. The history of the local Middle Ages is narrated in a colourful and emotional way. Precious historic exhibits are embedded in a dramaturgically staged pathway. The central theme is the events around the death of the Archbishop of Cologne in 1225. He and other historic characters, portrayed in life-sized cut-outs, provide an approach to single, individually staged themes. The focus lies on the life in a castle around 1300. It becomes interactively accessible for old and young visitors of the museum.
